The exhibition brings the works of Judith Kisner and Anna Bochkova into dialogue. What unites their works is a shared engagement with the figure of the witch, which serves as both a formal and thematic point of reference. The artists take seemingly traditional notions of dangerous femininity as a starting point and relate them to ongoing structures of gender-based oppression.

Drawing on fictional and historical narratives, as well as personal memories and imagined inner worlds, Bochkova’s and Kisner’s works explore specific associations of the witch figure with representations of nature, non-human others, mythologies, and cultural references. Through object-based scenes and scenographic arrangements, the exhibition outlines a space that opens up multiple narratives and discursive entry points.
