Of bodies changed to other forms I tell

Ovid “Metamorphoses”

In this installative project visual artist Anna Bochkova deals with the theme of transformation, in
physical as well as in psychical states. Metamorphoses can be seen as a question of materials, forms and
structures, which emerge, disappear and flow into one another.
The forms remain vague as they are about to transform themselves again.
Choice of materials represents artist’s desire to construct a constantly changing environment. Anna
Bochkova works with such materials as plaster, wood, clay, Plexiglas and reflective surfaces which allow
her to make unreal space tangible through creating an installative painting where all objects are
connected.
Within this work we can see many hidden visual codes which are constructing a certain conundrum with
a private vocabulary. House as an eternal symbol of shelter. At the same time most part of installation
represents scaffolding which builds a basis for a possible transformation and the birth of a new shelter.
This is a common space for a hope and a sacral environment which can make all wishes real.
