Sometimes I sleep but not yet fully, 2023

The installation ‘Sometimes I sleep but not yet fully’ presents a conundrum of visual scape which forms an environment for mental figures (ceramic sculptures) arising from it. There work reflects and
embody torn realm between dream and reality, state of being in-between as if one falling asleep and this evokes all subconscious creatures which symbolize different emotions, states of mind and
memories. In this work papier-mâché structure recreates bed and cradles but as a semi closed heterotopic space which is never completely safe or isolated. The figurative sculptures are reflecting
Anna Bochkova’s feelings of loss, unhomeliness , ambiguity, anger, fear and hope.
The title itself comes from the poem of Vladimir Nabokov where he describes his exile and his state of the dream, when the bed becomes a ship which brings him back to the gully.
